10/16/1905	Bengal was partitioned by Lord Curzon on the pretext of it being too big to administer. Instead of dividing it on the basis of non-Bengali areas, the division was on the basis of Hindus and Muslims. Britishers thought that would succeed in increasing Hindu - Muslim tensions. The tremor of partition was felt throughout India and was regarded as an insult and challenge to Indian Nationalism. A movement was launched by the moderates. New method of protests 'Swadeshi and Swaraj' became the slogan of the common man and the whole of India was drawn into the national movement.

9/7/1931	The Second Round Table conference began in London and lasted till 1st December, 1931. Congress was solely represented by Gandhi and Muslim League by Sir Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam. Two committees were set up to carry out the work of the conference on Federal Structure and Minorities. Gandhi was the member of both the committees. He claimed that being the sole representative of the Congress, he represented the whole of India. Quaid-e-Azam replied that Muslims are a separate nation. Sir Shafi demanded that the 14 points of Quaid-e-Azam be incorporated in the future constitution.
10/24/1856	Veer Narayan Singh, freedom fighter, was arrested by the British Government at Sambalpur for distributing grains from the warehouse to the people. He was sent to jail at Raipur.
8/1/1970	Bhopal University was established.
