Historical Event on 9/9/1812

The first paper currency was issued by the Bank of Bengal. The notes of this bank were later printed by Perkins, Heath & Co. in England. They can be distinguished into at least 10 different types. They were issued in a wide range of denominations from Rs. 10 to Rs. 1000.

9/10/1966Parliament approved the Punjab Re-organisation Bill for the formation of Haryana and Punjab as two independent states.
12/1/1946Australia compiled 645 vs India at Gabba. Bradman made 187 runs.
8/26/1984An Indian Airlines Boeing with 68 passengers and a crew of six hijacked to Lahore. The 12 Sikh hijackers then surrendered to the authorities in the U.A.E and released all the passengers.
