It was used for measuring in-flight performance of second experimental launch of SLV-3. The launch took from Sriharikota and India became the sixth nation to put a satellite into orbit. |

The tricolour flag of freedom was unfurled and 26th January 1930 was decided to be celebrated as Independence day every year. This session led to Civil Disobedience Movement, Dandi March to break the Salt Law, etc. |

Satyavati took over as the new Director-General of ICMR in July 1994. She became the first woman scientist in the country to head not only ICMR but any Research agency in independent India. |
